At first some thought maybe it was intentional, but now it appears that was likely not the case.
The man behind the wheel of the runaway car is in his 80's and he too is hospitalized. Some at the scene said it looked like he may have had a seizure.
The crash happened just as the market was closing for the day.
Eight people are dead, at least 50 more are injured.

Roanoke police and rescue crews spent much of the evening searching along the Roanoke River for a capsized boat.

They centered their efforts around the water treatment plant and 13th Street Bridge.
That's the area where Police say a man walked up to a house saying his boat had capsized and he couldn't find his friend.
The man left and so far police haven't found any trace of him, a boat or any other victims.
If they don't find anything tonight, crews will return in the morning with a boat and search again.

31 year old Toby Studabaker, a former marine, is in custody after running off to Europe with Shevaun Pennington. Studabaker was arrested in Germany, where he told authorities that Pennington was already on a plane back to England.

The two met in an Internet chatroom, were they discussed marriage which prompted Studabaker to fly to England to meet the girl he thought was 19. Using confiscated computer files and personal letters, police say Studabaker knew the girl was only 12 years old, but that's still under investigation. Right now he is facing abduction charges.

South and North Korean soldiers briefly exchanged machine gun fire today.
The South Korean military says it did not suffer casualties in the shootout.
It was not immediately known whether any North Korean troops were injured or killed.
The incident comes at a time when tension on the Korean Peninsula is high over North Korea's suspected development of nuclear weapons.

Around 11 this morning two men got into an argument in the parking lot of the Big and Tall Casual Male store.
Police say one man fired shots at the other- 29 year old Timothy Myers- hitting his car twice. Myers ran to a nearby restaurant for help while his Ford Explorer hit the side of the store. Police say Myers and the suspect know each other. Authorities have not identified the suspect. They're asking for anyone with information to come forward.

Now investigators in Michigan are trying to solve it.

They dug up a yard today as they searched for clues in the disappearance of the former Teamster president.
Investigators say a prisoner claims a clue in the Hoffa

After six hours though the dig turned up nothing. Investigators say they don't have much hope of finding anything. They will stay at the site and use metal detectors to continue the search.

Tonight - Duncan signed a seven-year, $122 million deal with the Spurs on Wednesday. He became an unrestricted free agent on July 1, but he indicated that the only team he was considering was the Spurs.

Duncan, who has played six seasons in the NBA has averaged 23 points, 12 rebounds and 2.5 blocks since leaving Wake Forest.

The Kobe Bryant case in Colorado remains in limbo and it may stay that way another week. Tonight the county district attorney in Eagle, Colorado said he likely won't announce until late this week or early next week if he will be charged. The five time all-star is accused of sexually assaulting a 19 year old at resort near Eagle, Colorado.

The ACC confirmed today that it has formally asked the NCAA to change its existing rule concerning post season championship games in football - now that Tech and Miami are on board. NCAA regulations currently state that a conference must have a dozen teams to hold such a game. The ACC is asking that any conference with at least 10 teams be able to do so. We won't know if it passes until next April at the earliest.

Meanwhile, Virginia Tech just wrapped up its football camp for over 600 youngsters. All of whom had signed up before the Hokies made the jump from the Big East.
