Authorities responded to the report of a capsized boat in the Ronoke River.

They centered their efforts around the water treatment plant and the 13th Street Bridge.
That's the area where Police say a man walked up to a house saying his boat had capsized and he couldn't find his friend.
The man left and so far police haven't found any trace of him, a boat or any other victims.

Another shooting occurred yesterday morning in a parking lot near Valley View Mall.

Around 11 o-clock, two men got into an argument in the parking lot of the Big and Tall Casual Male store.
Police say one man fired shots at the other- 29 year old Timothy Myers- hitting his vehicle twice. Myers ran to a nearby restaurant for help while his Ford Explorer hit the side of the store. Police say Myers and the suspect know each other. Authorities have not identified the suspect. They're asking for anyone with information to come forward.

College enrollment is up... but some say because of a lack in state funding, Virginia's public schools cannot afford any more students.

The State Council of Higher Education in Virginia expects college enrollment to increase by nearly 61-thousand students by the end of the decade.
The group says the state's public colleges are underfunded.
And unless the state comes up with more money, Virginia students may be turned away.
House Majority Leader Morgan Griffith says help is already on the way.

The trial for sniper suspect John Allen Muhammed is now set in a location far from where the shootings took place.

Yesterday, a Prince William County judge moved Muhammed's trial from Northern Virginia

to a courtroom in Virginia Beach.
The judge said the change is necessary to ensure a fair and impartial jury.
The prosecutor believes he'll be successful in either location.

The trial of the other defendant, Lee Malvo, has also been moved.
