Four people have been arrested in what Henry County authorities describe as a robbery conspiracy that turned to murder.

19 year old Nicholas Ryan Marshall was shot in the face shortly after midnight on Wednesday and died a few hours later.
Another man was bound with duct tape in Marshall's apartment on Melrose Drive. He told investigators that two men entered the apartment, stole money and drugs from Marshall before shooting him.

He is being held at the Henry County Jail without bond. He, along with three other men have been charged with first degree murder, conspiracy to commit robbery, and firearms violations. Police in Lynchburg say an accident involving a tractor trailer sent six people to the hospital. According to investigators, a tractor trailer traveling North on the Expressway overturned, tossing its trailer across the concrete divider, hitting two cars. One person is in stable condition at Lynchburg General and another was sent to U-V-A Medical Center. The northbound lane is clear now, but the southbound lane still has some cleanup. An investigation is still underway.

An airplane flying out of Roanoke was brought back to the airport earlier today after a dispute between a passenger and a flight attendant. F-B-I officials say the argument started over luggage shortly after takeoff. After the plane returned to the airport, the passenger was put onto another flight. Authorities say the incident was just a misunderstanding, and no charges will be filed.

The federal government has started mailing out tax rebate checks to Virginia taxpayers. The checks represent an advance of this year's child tax credit increase and will go to most parents who claimed the credit on their two-thousand two tax returns. The maximum credit is 600 to one thousand dollars. The mailing date depends on the last two digits of the taxpayer's social security number.

Pillowtex now has until Thursday to arrange payment of the money. In the meantime, the troubled textile maker will continue working to arrange a sale that will avert bankruptcy. Last month Pillowtex missed a quarterly loan payment to its banks. That gave the banks the right to demand repayment of the loans. The company employs about 12 hundred people at its plant in Fieldale.

Davis was shot and killed Wednesday at City Hall by a political rival, who was gunned down himself by a police officer. Today's memorial was billed as a "Stop the Violence" rally--the same kind of rally that Davis was known for holding during his career. His body will lie in state Monday in the City Hall Rotunda--it is the first such honor for a New York political figure since 19-18. In a separate incident, a man was arrested for threatening another city council member.

Mother Nature played a role in today's 19th stage of the Tour de France, but she couldn't slow down American Lance Armstrong.

Today's 30 mile time trial was treacherous after storms left water puddled along the roadway.
Armstrong's closest competitor, Jan Ullrich fell victim to the tough conditions. The German slipped and fell on the rain slickened course, got back up and finished 11 seconds behind Armstrong.
By the end, Armstrong's lead had grown to 76 seconds, the closest margin since he began his streak of victories in the 1999 race. The final stage Sunday in Paris is traditionally a ceremonial ride in which no one challenges the overall leader.
