An accident in Amherst County has left three people hospitalized. Police say around 3:30 yesterday afternoon, two men were involved in an accident on Coolwell Road, fled the scene, and then were broadsided again by a S-U-V on Route 29 when they ran a stop sign. The driver, 23 year old Garcia Fausto (FOW-stoh) was flown to Lynchburg General. His 25 year old passenger, Pablo Hernandez was flown to U-V-A Medical Center. The driver of the S-U-V was also taken to Lynchburg General. The accident blocked the southbound lanes of 29 for more than two hours. Police say charges are pending.

A Roanoke County family welcomed home two brothers who were stationed overseas during the war with Iraq.

Jason and Justin Jones were both welcomed home by friends and family at their grandmother's house yesterday. Both brothers joined the marines shortly after graduating from Northside High School. In fact, Justin signed up on September 11, 2001. He was deployed to the Middle East in January and got back three weeks ago. He says his unit got a warm welcome from most Iraqis.

His brother Jason was stationed in Japan at the same time tensions between the U-S and North Korea began to flare up. The family reunion has been a little shorter for Jason. He returned to Roanoke last night. He says he wasn't worried about his brother being in a combat zone, but how his family was holding up back home.

Danville Police are looking for a suspect in a weekend shooting. 28-year-old Melissa Kay Walker was shot in the arm around four o-clock yesterday morning while sitting in her car on Jefferson Street. The bullet passed through her arm and into her abdomen. Walker then drove herself to the emergency room at Danville Regional Medical Center. There is no information on her condition at this time.

Third shift employees were the first to return in six weeks. The union ratified a new contract Saturday with a 69 percent vote. It places caps on insurance premiums and increases pension rates by 54 percent. Mandatory overtime was also reduced. Union leaders say negotiations were slow, but they're happy to have reached an agreement.
