Police in Danville say a man was cut on the head this morning during a robbery. 30 year old Anthony Peters was walking home on Calhoun Street when two men approached him. One man wrestled him to the ground, while the other went through his pockets and took a small amount of money. When Peters resisted he was cut on the head-- police are unsure how. Peters was driven to Danville Regional Medical Center where he was treated and released.

A million- dollar damage award has been upheld by a federal judge. A jury awarded Donald Chad Shelton 1-point-1 million dollars for injuries sustained in an accident on Orange Avenue in Roanoke. At first Shelton refused treatment but was later treated and released from the hospital. An orthopedic surgeon testified Shelton suffered a "fairly significant injury." Judge James Jones noted "the jury was generous" and said that HE might not have awarded Shelton a million dollars if he'd been on the jury, but he concluded the verdict was NOT excessive.
