Virginia is reporting its first probable human case of West Nile Virus this year.
[GRAPHIC=West Nile]
The victim is a Botetourt County man in his late forties. The man has been released from the hospital and is expected to make a full recovery. Results from the state lab indicate the man suffered from West Nile, but the Centers for Disease Control has yet to issue a final confirmation. That could take several weeks.
The West Nile virus is transmitted by infected mosquitos.
The C-D-C says at least four people have died of the disease in the U-S this year.
Federal health officials say they expect the number of victims to go up even more.
