Michael Vick had his broken right leg placed in a cast late last night, and he is not scheduled for surgery at this point. He'll miss at least six weeks, which would include the first four games of the regular season. But Vick could be out as many as ten weeks depending on how well the bone heals. Today Dan Reeves and the Falcons staff weighed in on the loss.

The Virginia Tech Hokies have wrapped up their first full week of practice in pads, and the second scrimmage of the preseason is set for Tuesday. The season opener with Central Florida is exactly two weeks away. There's plenty of work to be done between now and then.

The Virginia Cavaliers are also dealing with a wealth of great expectations, but the Hoos are clearly grounded with the season opener against Duke, just 13 days away.
