About 45 hotel employees in Halifax County will be out of job within the hour if the owners of a local conference center can't reach an agreement with the Marriott Corporation.

Marriott runs and manages the Berry Hill Hotel and Conference Center near South Boston.
But Marriott officials say Berry Hill owners have not met their contractual obligations and Marriott has been packing up and preparing to move out.
Negotiations have continued for the past few days.. if no agreement is reached, the conference center will shut down at midnight tonight.
Customers with future reservations are being notified about the situation.

It appears as if the engine of the car de-railed. Guests on Big Thunder Mountain ride in passenger cars connected to a locomotive. The train twists and turns through waterfalls and tumbling rocks and police say it was speeding through a tunnel when the locomotive disconnected from the passenger cars.

We are shocked and saddened by this incident. Fridays crash killed a man who was riding in the front car, and paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.

And our hearts and prayers go out to the family of the victim, and all the individuals who have been injured. In the past few years several passengers have been severely injured on Disneyland rides, including Pirates of the Caribbean and Car Toon Spin. Since the park opened in 1955, eight guests have been killed but most violated the safety rules in doing so. Police are still investigating Friday's accident.

At this point we dont believe sabotage was involved, but certainly were going to look at everything. We would not want to discount this at this stage, but at this point it appears to be a very tragic accident. An accident that left one mans face cut and bruised, several teenagers shaken up. The psychologist says the 45 year old is ready to stand trial as long as he keeps taking medicine for depression and schizophrenia.
Police say (Oh-digg-ih-ZOO-wah) Odighizuwa opened fire with a handgun at the school January 17th of last year killing the Dean, a professor and a student- and wounding three others.

After weeks of training, Doctor Michael Donato (duh-NAH-to) has volunteered to run with the State Police's tactical unit. Donato is an emergency physician with Carilion. He decided to volunteer after a rash of school shootings several years ago because he thought having a trained medical professional inside unsecured buildings during crisis situations could help save the lives of people who would otherwise bleed to death. He will NOT carry a gun, but will be loaded down with about 80 pounds of medical supplies and armor.

Sources tell News 7 sports that Marcus Vick was suspended for tomorrow 's game because, over the summer he decided to drop a class and not return to Blacksburg for another two weeks. Sources say he did drop the class but in not returning to Tech, he missed workouts and that is why he was suspended. Officials at Tech could not be reached for comment.

Johnny Sauter sets a new Richmond track record in the Busch by starting the farthest back, 30th, and winning the Funai 250 by pushing Matt Kenseth out of the way on the final lap. It's his second career Busch win. Kevin Harvick was second.

There's a look at the new safe wall that has been installed at Richmond. Practices was quite scary for a few drivers as Christian Fittipaldi spins and hits the wall.
Mike Skinner also has to go to a back up car after crashing in practice. Folks will remember that Jerry Nadeau stated the season in the U.S. Army Pontiac but a horrible accident at the .75 mile track in May eventually gave way to Skinner. And in a back up car Skinner wins his 6th career pole with a speed of 125.792 miles an hour.
