Last night the bargaining committee unanimously approved a tentative agreement.

The expelled law student accused of killing three people at the Appalachian school of law will stand trial.

A judge today ruled that Peter Odighizuwa (Oh-Digg-ih- ZOO-wah) is mentally competent to stand trial on capital murder charges.
A Psychologist met with the former law student four times over the past year and recommended he is ready to stand trial as long as he keeps taking his medications for depression and schizophrenia.
Police say Odighizuwa (Oh-digg-ih-ZOO-wah) opened fire with a handgun at the school January 16th of last year killing the Dean, a professor and a student. Three others were also wounded.

Verlie Marion Word pleaded guilty to two counts of first degree murder and other charges this afternoon.
A judge then sentenced Word to two life terms plus ten years.

Investigators believe he was the triggerman in the 1993 double murder at the Riverdale Amoco near South Boston.
23-year old Joseph Gibbons and 20-year old John LaPrade both of Lynchburg were found shot in the back of the head.
Investigators say the motive appears to have been robbery.

Sources tell News 7 sports that Marcus Vick was suspended for tomorrow 's game was becuase, over the summer he decided to drop a class and not return to Blacksburg for another two weeks. Sources say he did drop the class but in not returning to Tech, he missed workouts and that is why he was suspended. Officals at Tech could not be reached for comment.
