Last Friday's 65-million dollar jackpot was nothing to sneeze at, but more than a year after the multi-state lottery was created, the top prizes haven't reached the record-breaking levels hoped for. That leaves Virginia and the other Mega Millions states still waiting for a lottery windfall to cushion falling tax revenues. The Mega Millions group has reason to hope its fortunes will improve. Texas will join in later this year... meaning more players, faster jumps in the jackpot, and maybe the record-breaking prize.
