Nearly two million people remain without power in Virginia. The storm is now being blamed for nine deaths in the Commonwealth and that number could climb.

With so many people still without electricity, Virginia is being assisted by power crews from other parts of the country.

These crews from Louisiana and Texas shored up lines in Franklin County this morning. They've been in the area since Tuesday night and plan to head to Lynchburg or Richmond in the next few days. Their supervisor spread a safety message after spotting downed wires draped across the hood of a mini-van.

Augusta county got almost 10-inches of rain overnight.

Hours after the rain had stopped... water still covered East Main Street in downtown Waynesboro. A county fire company captain said it was the worst flooding he's seen... worse that Floyd four years ago... even worse than Camille in 1969, because the water came up so fast this time. The storm knocked out power at several key intersections in the city. A power line snapped out in the county... along Howardsville Turnpike. A cow went to investigate the live wire, and she was electrocuted. There was lots of high water. Several county roads remain impassable.
