Officials say 16 secondary roads are closed in Halifax County, seven in Pittsylvania and a couple in Amherst.
Jennings Creek came out of its banks early this morning.
The road through the Arcadia area of Botetourt County is one of several in western Virginia that crews will be checking.

A group of bikers and a trombone player accompanied each other in Berlin for an unusual concert.
The show included various musical directions, fearing the distinguishable roaring sound of a Harley.
But the loud, melodic tunes weren't appreciated by everyone.
After several rehearsals in the courtyard of Berlin's main library, authorities refused to let the concert go ahead and threatened organisers with nearly 60- thousand- dollar fine.
But the show went on anyway...on top of a parking garage on the outskirts of the city.
