A Bedford man today pled guilty to involuntary manslaughter in a fatal car accident.

20-year old Michael Channing Coffey avoided a 20-year sentence by pleading to a lesser crime.
Although he doesn't remember the accident, Coffey admits he was drunk and speeding when his Chevy Blazer ran off the road on Route 122 in Moneta last September.
The case was scheduled to go to trail today but when two witnesses failed to show up a plea agreement was soon reached.

The child's father who's separated from the mother had apparently been trying to contact the mother for weeks- He found the child when a manager let him into the apartment.
He said the girl grabbed him and would not let go.

Tonight we've learned that the senior defensive end was arrested early Sunday morning and charged with disorderly conduct.
Blacksburg police lieutenant Bruce Bradbery says Colas was one of three people arrested during a large disturbance behind Woody's Bar and Grill. His court date has not been set.
