20-year old Michael Channing Coffey avoided a 20-year sentence by pleading to a lesser crime.
Although he doesn't remember the accident, Coffey admits he was drunk and speeding when his Chevy Blazer ran off the road on Route 122 in Moneta last September.
The case was scheduled to go to trail today but when two witnesses failed to show up a plea agreement was soon reached.

The childs 22- year old mother was put in jail three weeks ago and never told anyone about the child.
The child's father who's separated from the mother had apparently been trying to contact the mother for weeks- He found the child when a manager let him into the apartment.
He said the girl grabbed him and would not let go.

Six people were taken to nearby hospitals after they fell from a window during a private concert at the Solar Haus. 19-year-old Daniel Martin, a Virginia Tech sophomore and business major, died of his injuries. Although the town is still investigating, officials say the property does NOT have any previous zoning or building violations.

Virginia Tech football player Cols Colas was suspended for the Rutgers game last night by his head coach Frank Beamer.
Tonight we've learned that the senior defensive end was arrested early Sunday morning and charged with disorderly conduct. Blacksburg police lieutenant Bruce Bradbery says Colas was one of three people arrested during a large disturbance behind Woody's Bar and Grill. His court date has not been set.

Centra Health doctors say their decision to treat M-I's with angioplasty rather than thrombolytic (throm-boh-LIH-tick) drugs has greatly helped their success rate.
