Affidavits unsealed today in federal court allege KIK Virginia violated the Clean Water Act.
Earlier this month, investigators discovered the facility was discharging high levels of chlorine into both Salem's sewer system and the storm water collection system that leads to the Roanoke River.
The E-P-A believes that contamination killed a number of fish in the river in late August.
If it is determined officials with KIK Virginia knew about the discharge, they could face up to three years in prison and a maximum fine of 50-thousand dollars for each day of the violation.

Cave Spring and Hidden Valley battled for Southwest Roanoke County bragging rights tonight on the volleyball court.

Tamlyn Tanis and company will meet up with the Titans again on the 21st of the month. Tanis watched her team drop the first game tonight.
In the third game Hidden Valley's Laura Seamon throws down the point, but Cave Spring won it 25-18.
To the fourth game, the Titans Carli Spetzler gets a good look at the net, but Stacy Craighead sends it back for the Knights.
Andrea Secrist then slips one in for another point and Cave Spring won the game 25-21, taking the match three games to one.

For the past three years Doctor Lucky Garvin has been part of the Wildlife Care Alliance.
He transformed part of his home and even his backyard to care for helpless animals.
And when it comes to treating animals versus humans -- Garvin does admit he is a little biased.

Doctor Garvin doesn't get paid to help these animals. But he says he reward comes in watching them get back on their feet and return to the wild.
Over the past several years he has saved more than 2-thousand animals.
