One Bedford County supervisor we spoke with tonight was surprised by the news.

That's when a citizens group opposed to a VDOT project discovered identical handwriting on almost all the forms favoring a road project near Smith Mountain Lake.

Richardson voted for V-DOT's 1-point-1 million dollar plan to improve the intersection of Routes 608 and 626.
He also filled out one of the Highway Department's comment sheets in favor of the plan.
State Police found four dozen similar sheets, and a special grand jury indicted him on 82 counts, including forgery, perjury and obstruction of justice.
He's also accused of threatening a witness.
When asked about the accusations two months ago, Richardson told News 7 he'd done nothing wrong.

Bedford County supervisors will meet probably within the next week or so to decide how to fill Richardson's seat.
