All the charges against Katy O'Gee (KAY-tee OH-gee) were dropped. The government rested its case this morning, and the lawyers spent the rest of the day arguing motions to strike the evidence. Judge Sam Wilson dismissed all 15 counts against O'Gee on a judgment of acquittal in her case. He also dismissed three of the fraud counts against Doctor Knox and his office manager.

Judge Wilson reserved the option to make additional rulings in the case tomorrow morning ...before the defense begins putting on evidence. Knox still faces 83 criminal counts growing out of what the government claims is the distribution of OxyContin without a legitimate medical purpose.

Carilion officials say operating two hospitals a mile apart is costly and inefficient.
By consolidating services they hope to save more than four and a half million dollars a year and improve patient care.

((Judging from the smile on his face, you would never know that his points lead had been cut in half over the past two weeks, thanks to a 33rd and a 36th place finish. Matthew Roy Kenseth has led the title chase for 27 consecutive weeks, and the quest to bring the trophy to Roush for the first time is still very much alive and well.

Travis: There is some good news for Kenseth this week. The series heads to Charlotte and the Lowe's Motor Speedway where Roush Racing has won 5 of the last 10 points events.

They are spray painted on storm drains in the hopes of educating the public about how run-off can pollute area rivers.
Many mistakenly believe that what ends up in storm drains empties into a water treatment plant.

They plan to put similar ones in Vinton, Salem and Botetourt County.
