Half of all new teachers quit within the first five years.
The low retention rate among teachers is not only cheating students but it's expensive.
It costs a school 10-thousand dollars to recruit and train a new teacher.
But why are Virginia's teachers dropping out?

Blacksburg police say a woman posing as a patient has been taking credit cards from medical offices.
So far, police say she's put about 2-thousand dollars on the stolen cards.

Three high school girls' basketball coaches are suing a player's parent who tried to get them removed.
The defamation suits were filed by Rockbridge County High School girls' basketball coach Mike Hamilton and two assistants against Roger Koehler (Kay-ler) of Lexington.
They seek a total of four million dollars in damages.
The suit alleges that Koehler had a ``vendetta'' against the three coaches, including ``public attacks'' during the past school year.
Neither Koehler nor Hamilton could be reached today, but the principal of Rockbridge County High School says efforts were made to mediate the dispute.

The United States Navy's Fighter Squadron thirty two from the Naval Air Station in Oceana will conduct a fly over in F-14 Tomcats this Saturday. The F-14s racked up over 12 hundred hours of combat sorties during operation Iraqi Freedom.
