Because the league will have 12 teams, the move will allow the A-C-C to hold a football conference championship game that is expected to bring in between 5 and 10 million dollars. The league appealed to the N-C-double-A to allow a championship game with only eleven members, but that was denied. Boston College is expected to start league play in 2005, and WILL have to pay an exit fee to the Big East. Virginia Tech and Miami will play their first games as A-C-C members next September.

State Police say at its worst, the backup extended more than 21 miles. It all started with a minor accident in the Northbound lanes near Mile Marker 138 around noon. At least 7 other accidents happened in the backup over the next 7 hours, damaging at least 16 vehicles. Police say traffic Southbound was clear for the most part until 41 year old Michael Shearer of Illinois tried to cross the median, but got his tractor trailer stuck and blocked two lanes for hours. State Police held their day shift over to handle the mess. Sunday is traditionally the heaviest commercial traffic day of the week.
