That is the idea behind a new coalition that met tonight to deal with violence in Roanoke City Schools.

Founders Alice Hincker and Butch Lewis concede RSVP was formed in part because they were excluded from the city's task force.
But they say the group is about more than just sour grapes.

The first meeting attracted about 25 people and includes educators, former administrators, and parents who are fed up with the school system.

The coalition has hired a facilitator and hopes to eventually bring to Roanoke several well known school safety experts.
The group plans to focus on several issues including the role of a school resource officer, violence prevention, and crisis preparedness.
These issues will most likely be discussed by members of Roanoke's school safety task force.
It held its second meeting Tuesday night and some members welcome another group.

Early Tuesday, investigators swarmed Michael Jackson's Neverland Ranch near Santa Barbara. They would only say it was part of a criminal investigation. An attorney who has represented Jackson in the past says the search warrant involved sexual abuse allegations brought by a young boy.

From Las Vegas, an official Jackson spokesperson said they knew few details about the investigation. The singer is in Las Vegas with his three children making a video, but was nowhere to be found today. The raid comes nine months after Jackson admitted in interview that he slept in the same bed as children, seeing nothing wrong. The latest allegations sound familiar. More than a decade ago, the Pop superstar found himself in a scandal when a 13 year old boy accused him of molestation. No charges were ever filed and they reached an out of court settlement.

The allegations surround her decision to sell thousands of shares of Imclone stock just before the prices plummeted.

Cave Spring battled in a back and forth first game that the Knights would barely win by the count of 25-23 and that would give them the confidence they needed.

Dazzle coach Kent Davison looking worried early and he had reason to be as he would watch his team commit 17 first half turnovers and shoot 3 of 18 early. Maryland converted many of those give a ways into points.
The UVa connection provided some scoring punch. Curtis Staples hit two three pointers for the Dazzle, this one [SUPE
R=34-Roanoke/81/Maryland/72;]brought Roanoke to within 12.


Staples would remain hot throughout the game. He was 6 of 11 from three point land and finished with 20 points and leads the dazzle to a 81-72 win.
