Since it began last week, several residents have said they're afraid it's unsafe.

The city of Martinsville goes a step further and allows citizen's to shoot deer with a bow and arrow within city limits after obtaining a special permit.

Today, the town, Campbell County and the state kicked in some cash to make that possible.

Schrader-Bridgeport makes valves for the automotive industry.. it currently employs about 280 people.

The sapphire will be auctioned off along with the world's largest oval-cut diamond which weighs 64 carats.
Famed jeweler Harry Winston bought the sapphire in 1947.
