The recent ban on Christmas trees is now being reconsidered by state officials.

Virginia's Fire Marshal is lifting the ban on fresh-cut trees for apartment-dwellers.
The state will follow the lead of the International Fire Code.
The I-F-C was amended yesterday to permit fresh-cut evergreens in apartment and condominium units that do not have sprinklers.
Cut trees are still prohibited in places like churches, hospitals and dormitories without sprinkler systems.
