Marya, Roads are very slick. The snow is still falling here and it's a very wet snow which isn't good news for motorists. It's creating some slick and slushy spots on roadways... sort of like this. It's not too hard to see why cars are sliding off the road.

[ENG#=3]
(------------)
[VO-NAT]
[SUPER=03-Montgomery Co.;]

Take a look at this video of Interstate 81. We've seen quite a few cars on the side of the road even facing the wrong way. Police say they are dealing with a lot of minor accidents and stranded motorists. It's mainly motorists loosing control of their cars and ending up on the shoulder. I-81 itself is pretty clear, and manageable in Montogomery and Pulaski counties. But if you have to travel on it, slow down. We clocked most cars going at around 50 miles an hour.
(------------)
[LIVE=Rachel Full/Microwave]
[SUPER=05-Blacksburg;]

We do have some trouble spots to tell you about. Accumulations are much higher to the south. V-DOT says there are still snow covered sections of Interstates 81 and 77 in Wythe and Carroll Counties. Most of the roads in Grayson and Bland Counties are also still snow covered. And V-DOT officials say route 58 in Grayson is very hazardous right now. In the Konnarock region 4 to 5 inches have been reported.
[BLACKSBURG DOUBLE BOXES=Marya & Rachel/Microwave;]

Basically Marya, everyone has the same advise today, stay off the roads if you can, but if you have to travel, drive well below the speed limit, the roads may look clear, but its pretty slick out there.
