It took jurors several hours to reach the verdict- guilty of manslaughter in the car accident that killed a motorcyclist.
Janklow's attorneys said he was having a diabetic reaction when he sped through a stop sign, but jurors apparently did not buy it.
As Jennifer Donelan reports, Janklow wasn't talking after the verdict.

A snowstorm on Thursday and another on Friday dumped several inches of snow at Victory Stadium.
As a result, the football game was postponed twice.
That's because it would take city crews more than three days to remove all the snow.

Even then, workers could only use a few pieces of equipment because parks and rec was using theirs to clear the streets.
Despite the obstacles, city officials say they did a good job.

Salem's Christmas parade stepped off tonight... a few days late.
The parade was scheduled for last Friday, but like many other communities, the snow changed that.
With five marching bands and 90 entries, it's known as the largest holiday parade in Southwest Virignia.

Sources say former Vice President Al Gore plans to publicly endorse Dean for the Democratic nomination tomorrow.
The endorsement is expected to solidify Dean's position as the democratic front runner.
But according to some political analysts, it could deal an irreparable blow to the campaign of Connecticut Senator Joe Lieberman.
Lieberman is also seeking the Democratic nomination. He was Gore's running mate in 2000.
Gore is expected to endorse Dean tomorrow in New York City and then travel with him to Iowa, the site of next month's caucuses.

Almost half of the voters polled in Lynchburg and southside Virginia say they don't like the plan and that doesn't surprise Republican Delegate Morgan Griffith.

The U-S Supreme Court is permitting Parks to proceed with her lawsuit over a rap song.
The civil rights activist is suing the rap group OutKast over its 1998 song titled ``Rosa Parks.''
The 90-year-old Parks claims OutKast violated her publicity and trademark rights and defamed her.
OutKast says the song is protected by the First Amendment.
The song deals with the entertainment industry and its lyrics do not mention the civil rights pioneer by name.
Parks made history in 1955 when she refused to give up her seat to a white man on an Alabama bus.

It only seems appropriate that on the same night former Fleming stars Lee Suggs and John St. Clair are squaring off on Monday night football for the Browns and Rams that their alma mater would score a Victory at Victory Stadium and advance to the division four state title game.

Magna Vista arrived at the stadium almost two hours before kickoff, after making the trip up from Ridgeway.
By the time kickoff rolled around only a few buckets full of snow remained visible at the stadium.
As expected the game was a defensive struggle as the Colonels did a number on the Warriors most of the night holding Magna Vista to just 63 yards of total offense. Senior Dennis Hardy gets the stick on this play.
The Colonels also created a key turnover. Eric Spencer is stripped from behind by Fleming captain Maurice Kitchens and the loose ball is recovered by number 8 Donnell Blake.
Blake, who also is a senior would also score the eventual game

The VMI football team has placed 10 players on the all Big South football team that was announced tonight.
The Keydets put six guys on the first team

including linebacker Derik Screen from Lynchburg.
The former Heritage high school star led the Big South in tackles with 144. He also finished 9th in the entire nation in tackles.
Former Patrick Henry star Adam Peters earned second team honors as a punter. He averaged 41 yards a kick for the season.
And Jonathan Wilson - the freshman quarterback from Natural Bridge earned second team honors after leading the Big South in passing yards per game. The former Rockbridge County Wildcat threw for a season high 306 yards against Austin Peay.

The Biomedical Institute and Virginia Tech today unveiled the "Integrated Smart Bed."
Fiber optic sensors placed between the mattress and box spring pick up movement and wirelessly transmit data.
Essentially, a laser shines through the fiber onto a camera.
As the fiber moves, the speckle pattern on the camera changes.
The ability to monitor patients' behavior is expected to help prevent falls and bedsores.
The Smart Bed is now being tested at the Carilion Sleep Center.
