A new Mason Dixon poll shows that most Virginians think Governor Mark Warner is doing a good job
The poll also shows that a majority of voters supports his tax reform package.

[VO-NAT]

57 percent of the voters polled rate Warner's performance as "excellent" or "good."
That's an increase of three percent over last year.
Also, 56 percent say they support his new tax reform plan.
When asked about the individual components, 83 percent say they favor cutting the sales tax on groceries.
There is considerable less support for creating a new top state income tax rate of "six- and a quarter" percent.
Only 38 percent favor that.

A spokesperson for the Republican Party of Virginia says the poll is good for Republicans.

The Biomedical Institute and Virginia Tech unveiled the "Integrated Smart Bed" yesterday. Fiber optic sensors placed between the mattress and box spring pick up movement and wirelessly transmit data. Essentially, a laser shines through the fiber onto a camera. As the fiber moves, the speckle pattern on the camera changes. The ability to monitor patients' behavior is expected to help prevent falls and bedsores. The Smart Bed is now being tested at the Carilion Sleep Center.
