An explosion at a money- changing booth in Tel Aviv was apparently mob- related.

Police say the explosion was likely an attack by Israeli crime bosses against one of their rivals.
The blast went off as a suspected crime boss entered the money changer's shop.
He was reportedly injured. Israel Radio says this is the sixth reported attempt on the man's life in recent years.

In Italy, a car exploded near a synogogue when the man inside set himself on fire this morning.

Authorities say the incident doesn't look like a terrorist attack, but they're still investigating.
They say the man was from Jordan, and set himself on fire.
When police approached to put out the flames, the car exploded.

Military officials say there are reports of casualties -- but no reports of deaths among U-S troops.
Meanwhile, three men in the custody of U-S troops are believed to have led a group that's been attacking Americans, along with Iraqi civilians.

Roanoke County police searching for bugrlars arrested a 14 year old boy apparently driving a stolen car.
The officers were patrolling near Colonial Avenue, when they spot two young men who fled when they saw police.
Authorities searched the area and followed a late model Cadillac.
It took off and crashed into a rock wall at the intersection of Richards Boulevard and Poplar Drive.
It was later learned the car was stolen from a restaurant parking lot.
Police say the driver of the car was a 14 year old runaway from Pennsylvania.
Officers are looking to see if there is any connection between last night's events ,and a string of burglaries in the same area.

Two Martinsville men face numerous charges after a string of burglaries. On Tuesday, police responded to a burglary call at Uptown Automotives to find 18 year old Herbert Shawon Nowlin and 18 year old Joseph Reed Sink hiding on the premises. During the investigation officers linked the men to three other robberies in the area, and recovered over $4,000 in stolen goods. A total of 24 charges have been brought against the two men.

Formula One champion driver Michael Schumacher raced his Ferrari against a Eurofighter Typhoon three times at a military airport near Rome.
Schumacher won the first race, but lost the other two sprints.
While the Ferrari's aerodynamics are designed to stop it from taking off, the big problem for the jet pilot was keeping his aircraft on the ground.
Normally, the jet would take off after five seconds.
Thousands of spectators turned up at the airport to watch the show, and the event was shown live on Italian television.

Free agent Andy Pettitte has decided to leave the New York Yankees to pitch closer to home.
He has agreed to a three-year contract with the Houston Astros.
A source tells The Associated Press that Pettitte made the decision after weighing a new offer from the Yankees last night.
The Yankees' offer averaged about 13 (m) million dollars a year. The Astros plan to announce the deal at a news conference today. The 31-year-old Pettitte is 149-and-78 with the Yankees.
