He's been in charge of processing prisoners near Saddam Hussein's hometown of Tikrit.

An ice covered bridge is being blamed for a chain reaction accident on Interstate 81 today that left one man dead.

Shortly before 10 o'clock, State Police say Benjamin S. Grant of Tennessee was traveling north near mile- marker 95 when he lost control on a patch of ice and hit a guardrail. He then came back onto the road where he was struck by a tractor trailer. A second tractor- trailer then rear- ended a freight- liner that struck Grant's Ford Festiva. The 24- year- old was pronounced dead on the scene. Traffic was backed up for more than an hour while crews cleared the wreckage.

More than 35-hundred people gathered on the campus of Southern Illinois University to honor the late Senator Paul Simon.

The Simon family agreed to hold the funeral there so that as many people as possible could attend. Simon served five terms in U-S House of Representatives and two terms in the Senate.
After retiring from politics in 1997, he taught at Southern Illinois University and established a think tank called the Public Policy Institute. Simon was 75 when he died on Tuesday after suffering complications during heart surgery. Ironically, Simon was baptized 75 years to the day of his funeral.

A 78 year old retired school teacher says she is the mixed-race daughter of the late senator Strom Thurmond. Essie Mae Williams has long been rumored the daughter of the one time segregationist.

Rashad McCants tossed in 14 points including these three from long distance.
Ryamond Felton did his part as well. The top point guard in the ACC scored 12 points and big man

The Roanoke Dazzle lost its third game of the season this afternoon dropping an 8 point decision to the North Charleston LowGators.
