One man is dead after authorities say an icy bridge caused a chain reaction accident on Interstate 81.

Shortly before 10 o'clock yesterday morning, State Police say Benjamin S. Grant of Tennessee was traveling north near mile- marker 95 when he lost control on a patch of ice and hit a guardrail.
He then came back onto the road where he was struck by a tractor trailer.
A second tractor- trailer then rear- ended a freight- liner that struck Grant's Ford Festiva.
The 24- year- old was pronounced dead on the scene.
Traffic was backed up for more than an hour while crews cleared the wreckage.
