A Roanoke woman is shot to death just hours after she told police someone was trying to kill her.

Roanoke City Police are investigating the shooting that left the woman dead and another person wounded.

Police initially responded to the Caru Apartments on Bennett Drive shortly after 2-o'clock.
There, 23 year old Neesha Edwards told them a man she had previously been in a relationship with was trying to kill her.
Police were back at the apartments shortly after 4-o'clock, after Edwards was shot dead inside of a car.
An acquaintance, 22 year old Shawn Webb was wounded in the shooting.
The suspect in the shootings, 26 year old Carl Lamonte Richardson was apprehended without incident about two hours later on 13th Street in Roanoke.
He is being held in the Roanoke City Jail without bond on murder, malicious wounding, and firearms charges, as well as for making threats to kill.

An early morning accident in Covington has claimed the life of a man from Greenbrier County, West Virginia.
State Police say 47 year old Forrest Boggs died when the truck he was driving ran off Interestate 64 and flipped between two bridges.
Boggs was carrying mail from Roanoke for the postal service, and it was scattered.
The service was called to the scene to salvage what it could.

Authorities in China aren't taking any chances when it comes to the SARS virus.
They've ordered researchers to turn in any samples of the virus for safe storage.

That, after a research scientist from Taiwan tested positive for the virus.
Officials estimate the man contracted SARS about two weeks ago in a laboratory where he worked.
