The town took a one-million gallon water tank off line this week because of a structural crack.
The 70-year old tank is in the Highland park subdivision. City leaders say a new 2-million gallon replacement tank was already in the plans for next summer.
Town officials say folks in the region shouldn't notice any change in their water supplies.

((Saint John's receiver Blake Elliott is the Gagliardi Award winner as the best player in D3 football. But the senior could be slowed considerably in his final collegiate game by a sore hamstring.

If there is a silver lining for the Johnnies, it's the fact that Elliott wasn't even the team's leading receiver in last week's semifinals. That honor went to running back Josh Nelson.
Elliott's counterpart for Mount Union is 6 foot 4 inch Randell Knapp who has who has 16 TD receptions of his own this season. Knapp says this Purple Raiders team has found its niche in Mount Union football lore.

An historic theater in Clifton Forge is getting a new owner.

The Appalfolks Association of America gave the historic Stonewall Theater to Clifton Forge, citing a downturn in donations and rising expenses.
The theater was built in 1905 as an Opry house, and the likes of Gene Autry, Burl Ives, and Roy Rogers and Trigger once performed there.

A month of work at Roanoke's oldest fire station has paid off.
Today, city officials unveiled the newly renovated Station Number One.
The historic landmark got a paint job and other repairs, from the equipment bay to the dormitory to the bell tower.
Built in 1906, when horses pulled fire wagons, the building may eventually become a museum.
