Manpower shortages in the Lynchburg fire department have apparently led the city to close Station Number Two on Grace Street for a day.
A handmade sign outside the station informs residents about the closure and suggests they call City Hall about it.
But city manager Kim Payne says he's had "no" phone calls about the shutdown.
The head of the firefighters union says a combination of vacation time, sick leave and lack of personnel is the problem.
Art Lipscomb says the city often is forced to take equipment out of service because there isn't enough manpower to run it.
