The search continues for a missing five year old boy in Halifax County this morning.

It's been more than 12 hours since family members reported DeAndre Barksdale missing.
Barksdale was visiting his grandparents when he wandered off.
Search and rescue teams have worked overtime trying to find him.
At one point, more than 200 volunteers were searching on foot for the boy.
More volunteers will be helping with the search this morning, as well as a police helicopter and search dogs.
The Halifax County Sheriff says he's thankful for all the help he's receieved, and if anyone has any information, he asks that they contact the Sheriff's office.

The remains of a crushed drum were found by construction crews at an excavation site near Roanoke's Public Works Service Center.

Several drums have been found in that area since late summer, when crews began preparations for the city's new stadium and amphitheater.
In a news release, officials said they are following established procedures to test and dispose of the drum and its contents. They have also notified the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality.

The notice of violation followed three recent incidents in which workers discovered waste buried on the site.

Company officials for Heironimus confirmed yesterday that it will close three of its four stores in the state.

The Associated Press reports the stores at Towers and Towne Square malls in Roanoke and the store in Lynchburg will close.
Heironimus at Spartan Square in Salem will remain open, at least for now.
An official with the parent company says the Salem store's lease has not come up for renewal. But he would not disclose when the lease runs out or whether the company will close the store when it does.
A senior Vice President with the Dunlap Company said increases in rental rates forced the company to close the Roanoke and Lynchburg locations.

It will be a REALLY Happy New Year for the person holding the winning Mega Millions lottery ticket.
Officials say the ticket for the 155- million dollar prize was sold near Cleveland, Ohio.

Pittsylvania County officials are looking for a missing Greensboro woman, after a small child was found alone in a parked car.

Investigators say 25- year- old Tiffiney Nicole Williams was last seen yesterday, when she left a Greensboro doctor's office with her child.
Williams reportedly has a history of mental problems.
Deputies searched the Whittles community where the car was found without finding Williams. The two- year- old has been turned over to Pittsylvania County Social Services.

The company began interviewing people this week for 150-positions.
G-C-S has already hired 40-people and interviewed more than 100.
Company officials say they chose Pulaski over four other states because of the eager workforce.
