Crews continue to search for a five year old boy in Halifax County.

Five year old Deandre Barksdale was reported missing Tuesday in Halifax County. The boy wandered away

from his grandparents home about 5:00 p.m. Tuesday. Trained crews are still searching the woods and fields were he wandered off. Volunteers will head out again today to look for him.

A Lynchburg child was returned safe and sound after being involved in a suspected parental kidnapping.
3 year old Rachel Bokel (boe-KELL) and her mother were found at Kennedy International Airport last night.
The Lynchburg police department is making arrangements to have the girl returned to the custody of her father.

Heironimus will be a thing of the past by the end of next month.
All of the stores - including the one in Salem - will close by the end of February.

There's a year left on the lease at Spartan Square. The terms of the lease require Heironimus to remain in business through the end of what's been a 15-year agreement. Property owner L-S Waldrop says he can hold the company to it, but he says "it doesn't make sense." He fully expects the parent company to close Heironimus in Salem when the rest of the stores- -in Roanoke and Lynchburg- -close February 29th. Waldrop says he's confident he can find a new tenant, "equal to or better than what we have now."

On Monday we incorrectly reported that the parent company- Dunlap, lost money last year. According to Yahoo Finance, revenues were off by 11-and-a half percent from the year before, but not in the red.

the Blue Ridge Parkway Bridge over the Roanoke River following allegations that he'd assaulted a student. A decision had been made not to pursue charges against Mayfield, but his family says he was never notified.

Virginia's unemployment is at its lowest in more than two years.

The state average fell a tenth of a point to three- point- three percent.
The Roanoke metro area saw unemployment drop two tenths, coming in at an even three percent.
The Danville metro area saw the biggest improvement for the month. Unemployment there dropped eight tenths of a point. But at seven percent, it is still the highest jobless rate in the state.
Lynchburg's unemployment rate remained unchanged at four- point- three percent.

A Greensboro woman who allegedly abandoned her child now faces felony child abuse charges.

25 year old Tiffney Nicole Williams left a doctor's office in North Carolina with her two year old child Monday morning.
After her boyfriend reported her missing, the child was found alone in a car in the Whittles community of Pittsylvania County.

Williams was located yesterday about five miles away in Gretna.
After a mental evaluation, she was charged and arrested.
