The company that runs the Life Center in Galax has bought out the firm that's planning to open a Methadone Clinic on Hershberger Road in Roanoke.
C-R-C Health Group acquired National Specialty Clinics. Together they'll operate 48 methadone clinics in 21 states.

There's been considerable vocal opposition to the plan.

Twenty-three year old William Fernando Rodriguez was found sitting in the driver's seat of his Dodge Neon with the engine running.

Jeffries lives on Rutrough Road but was already in jail, charged with abducting a family of three. Officials say the abduction and homicide are related but are not saying how.

A spokesman for Hollingsworth and Vose on Parkview Road says a fire in a ventilation duct broke out while welding work was being done around noon today.
80 to 90 employees were evacuated for about an hour and a half but were eventually let back in.
Rumors spread that one or two people were missing and may have been killed but the company stresses there were *no* injuries.
Hollingsworth and Vose manufactures non-woven materials like window coverings and embroidery backing.
