As Virginia gears up to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the founding of Jamestown in 2007, Lynchburg is looking to throw a few parties as well.

The Jamestown celebration coincides with the 250th anniversary of the establishment of John Lynch's ferry service across the James River.
A local committee is asking citizens to come up with ideas about the kind of events and activities they'd like to see.

The VMI Keydets hosted Radford tonight at Cameron Hall. RU had won the last three meetings, but tonight's confrontation marked the first between the two as Big South members.

RU head coach Byron Samuels was ejected at Winthrop on Monday, he got a one game suspension, but appealed it so he could coach tonight. The Highlanders Aaron Gill will get free down low and he will give his coach something other than a Maalox moment with the layin. RU by four. But VMI would go on a 17-nothing run as Matt Coward gets the steal and hoop. VMI expands it's lead. Radee Skipworth then made this tough catch in traffic and he scores two of his game high 19 points for the Keydets. In the second half VMI opened things up as Richard Little alleyoops one to Matt Murrer - who throws one down on post.
