((STEVE MASON:IT IS ONLY FITTING THAT WE BEGIN OUR SECOND SEASON OF WDBJ-7'S ATLANTIC COAST CONFERENCE CONNECTION WITH J.J. REDICK AND J.R. REYNOLDS. THE TWO ROANOKE PRODUCTS PLAYED AAU BALL TOGETHER AND THEN COMPETED AGAINST EACH OTHER IN HIGH SCHOOL. THEY NOW FIND THEMSELVES ONCE AGAIN WEARING DIFFERENT COLORED JERSEYS. THE BLUE DEVIL AND CAVALIER SAY THEIR IS NO PERSONAL RIVALRY AND BOTH LINK THEIR ACC SUCCESS TO THEIR BASKETBALL BACK GROUNDS IN THE STAR CITY.))
((J.R. and J.J. were teammates on the AAU Roanoke Jaguars for 5 years and in three of those they went to the national tournament and now they represent Roanoke on the largest college basketball scale of all.
((:))
((:))
In the Cave Spring/Roanoke Catholic games the two occasionally matched up against each other. Redick averaged in the mid 20's against, Reynolds the high teens. Head to head, Redick was 6 and OH against Reynolds.
((:))
((:))
their college careers are at different points. J.R. has made 10 three pointers, Redick is two treys shy of 10th place on Duke's all time career three points made list.))
