The U-S-S Midway has been a part of a mothballed fleet, but will soon be the San Diego Aircraft Carrier Museum. It was commissioned only six months before the end of World War Two and saw action in Vietnam and the first Gulf War.

It was the largest carrier at the time it was launched and was named after the Battle of Midway. The aircraft and the tugs that pulled them are also being restored as a part of the project. It should be open for tours this spring. (------------)
