The second largest cabinet maker in North America plans to open in the Patriot Center Industrial Park early next year.
The company says it will hire 745 people over the next seven years.

Joy has been hard to come by here in Henry County.
The area has lost thousands of jobs including more than 900 when Pillowtex shut down in July.
Governor Warner says since taking office he's helped create more than two thousand jobs in southside but concedes some of them never materialized.

Henry County had to compete with 180 localities to get MasterBrand.
The state ended up giving the company 1.5 million dollars in grants, another 750-thousand dollars in tobacco money, and more than a million in private donations.

"Inconsistent statements" led Roanoke police to suspect Christopher Rogers might know more about his mother's murder than he's saying.

Police searched him and his home yesterday. The basis for the search was a series of things he said under questioning. According to court papers filed today, the search was instigated after an autopsy of Teresa Rogers' body indicated she couldn't have been found the way her son said she was. Mother and son live in separate homes on the same property. While he told police he did not have a key to her place, other sources say he did.

A man shot in Montgomery County over the weekend has died from his wounds.
53 year old Thomas Wayne Saunders died last night.

40 year old Elecia Battle pled no contest to filing a false police report, and was found guilty by the judge. The misdemeanor carries a possible penalty of six months in jail and a one thousand dollar fine. The judge ordered a pre-sentence investigation before sentencing in February. Battle filed a police report claiming she dropped the December 30th winning Mega Millions lottery ticket, and when the real winner came forward, Battle sued to block payment.

It didn't take police long to track down a suspect last night.

They found him stuck in the chimney of a Houston restaurant. It started when two men tried to break in by sliding down the chimney. When the first alleged burglar jumped in feet first -- he got stuck. His buddy broke a window to get inside and tried to pull him through the fireplace. When that didn't work, the man inside the restaurant ran off, leaving the chimney trapped crook to deal with police by himself. The suspect is facing charges, and police hope to arrest his partner as well.

The Virginia Cavaliers dropped their third straight ACC game tonight as they were hammered by Georgia Tech 75-to-57. The reasons for the loss are pretty simple. UVa shot 35 percent, committed 21 turnovers and again didn't play good defense.

That's the theory in Detroit, where the 22nd annual international ice scupture spectacular is underway.
This is not just your ordinary ice sculpting.. some intricate works are on display. 100 sculptures in all.
500 thousand visitors from around the country are expected to join the locals to celebrate ice at the Plymouth festival- which by the way is billed as the oldest and largest ice carving event in the nation. (------------)
