Good Evening. I'm Jean Jadhon.
Outside the courthouse, a mob of fans and a sea of cameras.
Inside court Michael Jackson pleaded not guilty to child molestation charges- that could send him to prison for many years.
While the fans love him, the judge was not thrilled when Jackson showed up late to the court proceeding-
Chris Lawrence was able to watch as the superstar faced the judge.
He joins us live from Santa Maria, California with the latest.

(( The end of Michael Jacson's arraignment was more concert than court proceeding.. . The singer as star....and this van... his stage. It was a remarkable show of strength for a man who said he couldn't raise his arm a few weeks ago - accusing the police of manhandling him during the arrest. But Jackson was clearly playing to the crowd - the 1,000 fans that converged outside the courthouse:
Fans speak
Inside Jackson pleaded not guilty to charges that he molested a child. He didn't show much emotion but seemed to listen intently for the entire two hours. The judge criticized Jackson for arriving 20 minutes late and told him "you've started out on the wrong foot with me - It's and insult to the court and you should consider this a polite warning." Very quietly, Jackson said, "yes sir, yes" But later his lawyers blamed the crowd:

Benjamin Brafman/Jackson attorney In fairness toMr. Jackson, it takes about 20 minutes to go 100 yards...
Many fans protested his innocence while imitating his image. And all of it could be repeated next month when Jackson comes back to court on Friday the 13th.))
