Authorities say the suspect in the murders of a Pennsylvania family is dead following a police chase and an apparent suicide.

Donald Barnhart was suspected of killing his girlfriend's sister, brother-in-law and 19-month-old niece.

The three were found shot to death Tuesday in their mobile home.
Authorities say they believe Barnhart himself set off some kind of explosive device and blew up his car, after state police started chasing him about 30 miles northeast of Pittsburgh.
Barnhart's girlfriend, meanwhile, has been jailed on murder conspiracy charges.
