Coming up next on the newscast, the state takes steps to help reduce the risk of Mad Cow Disease in the Commonwealth.
But first dozens of people are killed in India after a fire breaks out at a wedding celebration.
[MUSIC UP FULL]
[COMM BREAK #1]
A fire killed more than 50 people during a wedding ceremony in Southern India today-- including the groom.
Officials say a short circuit led to the fire inside a crowded marriage hall.
The bride is in serious condition with burns.
She, along with about 60 others were injured when they stampeded down a narrow staircase to escape the flames.
About 500 guests were at the ceremony when the fire started.
Virginia authorities want to reduce the risk of Mad Cow Disease in the Commonwealth.
Yesterday, cows in the Richmond area were electronically tagged.
The tag is stapled to the animal's ear, allowing farmers to follow the cow from birth to the time they are slaughtered.
Agriculture officials say that the tagging does NOT affect cows in any way, but they're confident that the new process will help prevent Mad Cow Disease.
Officials have made the tagging system mandatory for all cows in the Commonwealth, but said that it will take some time for the program to run smoothly.

NASA has finally received a message back from Mars.
The signal from the Spirit rover lasted 10 minutes, and was picked up by a NASA antenna complex in Spain.
However, officials aren't saying yet what the signal contained.
If it had significant information, it would be the first such signal in two days.
Engineers are hoping that the Spirit rover will also send them some engineering data, so that they can determine the condition of the six- wheeled robot.
You'd almost have to be on Mars NOT to have heard the term, "Bennifer" .
But the on-again, off-again relationship is off once more.
Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are calling it quits.
Lopez' spokesman says Jennifer is the one who ended the engagement.
Affleck's publicist won't comment on his private life.
The couple postponed their wedding scheduled last September, blaming 'excessive media attention,' but have remained an item until recently.
Lopez plays Affleck's wife in their new movie "Jersey Girl" which is still scheduled to come out in March.
