Three- year- old Kyonte was killed nearly two weeks ago when his family's apartment caught fire. Firefighters ruled the blaze an accident.

Now POLICE are looking at the health records of Kyonte and his siblings for signs of mistreatment. According to search warrants filed Tuesday, investigators report Kyonte suffered numerous injuries after being struck by a vehicle and falling from a second story window twice before his death. Police have not named anyone in connection with the investigation. Kyonte's mother, Kyana Poindexter, could not be reached for comment.

Officials with Federal-Mogul are still trying to determine how many workers will be let go this March. The company says it needs to trim the workforce to stay on equal footing with national and worldwide competition. Federal-Mogul manufactures automotive engine parts, and currently employs more than 430 people in Blacksburg. A representative with the New River Central Labor Council says laid off workers will likely be eligible for special assistance from the Federal government.
