In just one week, the Commonwealth will host the Virginia Democratic Primary.

Among the front runners: John Kerry, Howard Dean, Welsey Clark and John Edwards.
All registered Virginia voters will have an chance to cast their ballot in the primary on Tuesday, February 10th.

This year to avoid the problems from the 2000 election, Roanoke County will debut its new automated voting system.

An Austrian won a race in New York today, but he had to face an uphill challenge to do it.

Rudolf Reitberger was the fastest man in the annual Empire State Building run up today.
He raced up the 86 flights of stairs in ten minutes and 37 seconds.
That is about one thousand 576 steps.
He beat out Israeli twins Ran and Dan Alterman who finished second and third.
A 92 year old Italian man kept his streak of finishing the race. today. Chico Scimone completed the course in 43 minutes, 25 seconds. It was his 13th year in the race.
The women's race was on by Andrea Mayr who ran the course in 12 minutes eight seconds.
