(( A tight-lipped Martha Stewart makes her way into court Monday morning. But some legal experts say, she may be forced to testify if her attorneys can't do some serious damage control.. soon. The governments star witness has lived up to the title.

---.SOT: Leslie Crocker Snyder/Legal expert (former judge)

he's been an incredible witness and everyone thinks he's done a great job.
Last week, Douglas Fanieul testified that he was told to pass an illegal stock tip to Stewart by his fomer boss, Peter Baconovic.
He said the two then "cooked up" a story about the well time stock sale. Fanieul then fended off questions from Baconovics lawyers with ease.
---.
SOT: Crocker Snyder

They really haven't made any in-roads on his testimony, he's been cool, calm well prepared...(and amusing even)
---.

Now, Stewart's camp will try to do some serious damage control. Attorney Robert Morvillo may try to distance Stewart from her former stockbroker and co-defendant Peter Baconovic. (wild line: is trying to distance)
---.

SOT: Crocker Snyder

he has to make it look like maybe Bacanovic was guilty but Stewart really didn't know all this. Incidentally, I think that is going to be a very tough job.
---.

Bridge: Even tougher...deciding whether or not to put Martha Stewart on the stand. If her attorney can't take the shine off the governments star witness..she may need to testify and that could be recipe for disaster.
