Local officials are calling it the lowest voter turnout in years.
News 7's Susan Bahorich has been checking in at polls around the Roanoke Valley.

And, officials say it's pretty much the same across the Roanoke Valley.
Roanoke City, County and Salem are all reporting five-percent voter turnout.
Even polls that usually have a high number of voters have seen a difference.

A Lynchburg man will be headed to prison after pleading guilty to the drug-related murder of a teenager two years ago.

37-year-old Gerald Wayne Hubbard was arrested in July of 2002 for the shooting death of 16-year-old Ronrico Robinson.
Robinson was gunned down on Fifth Street during a dispute over some tainted cocaine he allegedly sold Hubbard.
Hubbard was due to stand trial tomorrow but accepted a plea agreement to second degree murder today.
He faces up to 48 years in prison when he's sentenced next month.

Roxie Raines Kornegay wants to keep Governor Mark Warner's tax plan from becoming a reality.
She and other anti-tax groups are speaking out against the proposals that would raise one billion dollars in additional state revenue.

The Senate Finance Committe heard testimony today on competing plans to overhaul the state's antiquated tax code but delayed a vote on the measures until later this week.
Meanwhile the House of Delegates took a recess from the tax debate to help out Salem school children.
The House approved a bill that gives Salem schools an exemption from what is known as the Kings Dominon law.
That law requires school years to start after the lucrative Labor Day weekend.

Marcus West, in white on the left of your screen - heaved a 75 foot shot at the buzzer to lift Mount Olive to a 108-105 victory over Pfeiffer in Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference men's game.
The loss was the first of the year for Pfeiffer, which was the lone remaining unbeaten Division II team in the nation.
Mount Olive had a 17 point lead early in the second half before Pfeiffer stormed back and forced West's heave.
