According to Henry County human resources director Charles Preston, the school board makes the ultimate decision on coaching hires based on the Bassett and Magna Vista principals recommendation.
Laurel Park girls head coach Melissa Blair has applied for the Magna Vista job and her mother Mary Martin is a Henry County school board member. In an effort to be fair, the board is waiting for word back from attorneys on whether or not Mrs. Martin can be included in the decision process for the Magna Vista girls varsity head coaches spot.

Blair is also concerned with solid kids with marginal basketball skills.))

The quilt will be highlighted in Quilter's Newsletter Magazine sometime in the next year.
Mesimer (Mee-simm-err) is also behind a push to make teddy bears for Kyle Petty's Victory Junction Gang Camp for terminally ill children.
With help from volunteers she plans to crank out 30 bears.
