One man is sent to the hosptial and another to jail after a shooting outside a Lynchburg restaurant last night.

It happened just before midnight at the Ale House Restaurant on Wards Road.
Police say a personal dispute between two men turned violent when one of them pulled a gun and shot the other in the leg.
The victim, Vincent E. Clark of Madison Heights, was taken to the hospital while police tried to gather information from eyewitnesses in the large crowd at the restaurant.

Police are questioning the suspect who has been identified as 22 year old Reginald Lorenzo Anthony of Evington. He was pulled over a few minutes after the shooting on the property of River Ridge Mall.

Virginia legislators say such a measure is necessary.
They point to the fact that drunk driving accidents in Virginia are back on the rise afer a period of decline.

Starting Monday, Lychburg schools students will have longer school days to make up for missed classes. The school day will start 15 minutes earlier, and will end 15 minutes later.

Attorney Bill Cleaveland has represented Bev Boone on the racketeering and fraud charges until now. He's filed a motion asking to be court-appointed. Bev Boone deferred to her husband, when asked about the motion. JIM Boone says the case has run them into bankruptcy. They've already spent several hundred thousand dollars, he says.
