It wasn't long before they found the car investigators believed he was driving, in the parking lot of the Ramada Inn.

Police say the woman was an acquaintance from Tennessee, but late this afternoon she had not been charged with a crime.
Authorities want to talk with Thomas about the death of 43- year- old Adwinna Pamela Hughes, a Kingsport woman who was found shot to death earlier this week.
Investigators say Thomas and Hughes were companions in the past, and were last seen together earlier this month. The vehicle Thomas was driving in Roanoke, a green honda, matches a description of the victim's car.
This morning as police waited for Thomas to leave his room, employees of nearby Carilion Home Care Services were told to stay home.

More alleged victims testified today against a former Giles County pastor accused of molesting several children.

Fifty- three year old Roger Holcomb is charged with six counts of aggravated sexual battery and four counts of taking indecent liberties with a child.
The three girls and a boy range in age from seven to 10.
A fifth alleged victim and charge against Holcomb was dropped from the case this week.
A seven year old girl took the stand today and testified Holcomb took off her underwear, fondled her and then threatened her with a knife.
The defense questioned the girl for over an hour, trying to point out inconsistencies in her story.
The trial continues tomorrow.

The signs are hard to miss, they stand 18 feet tip to tip, and hold more than 250 feet of fluorescent tubing each. And they got their first test at the Daytona 500.

That's right, the mortal enemies are officially going into the rivalry business.
For the first time, U-V-A and Tech have agreed to license rivalry products like this little statue of a giant Hokie keeping a football from some Hoos.
Local stores will soon have items such as shirts and hats that take little digs at the opposition.
Officials say its the first of many new things to come - now that Tech's headed to the A-C-C.
