A woman was killed in an accident in Bath County yesterday.

State troopers say her husband was driving the couple's van north on Route 42, when it ran off the road and hit two trees.
72 year old Rita Baird Walters of Millboro was not wearing a seatbelt and died at the scene.

He was flown to Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
Troopers aren't sure what caused him to run off the road.

Amherst County officials are looking into the death of a woman who was found in her car submerged in water.

47-year-old Caroline Farmer's husband had reported her missing Tuesday night.
She reportedly had driven up to the Blue Ridge Parkway to read.. and that's where he spotted her car in about ten feet of water in Otter Creek Lake.
It took dive crews about four hours to recover the car and her body.

A body of an Amherst County woman has been found inside a car submerged in an Amherst County lake.

The car was spotted in Otter Creek Lake near the Blue Ridge Parkway around 10:30 yesterday.
It took authorities more than four hours to secure the vehicle and pull it from the lake.
The red Dodge Dakota belonged to 47-year-old Caroline Farmer of Madison Heights.
Her husband had reported her missing around 11 o-clock Tuesday night.
Authorities say there's no apparent sign of foul play.
Her body will be taken to the medical examiner's office in Roanoke for autopsy.

A former Giles County pastor has been convicted of molesting a child.
The jury recommended he spend 10 and half years in prison.

The prosecutor say he's happy with the outcome.
