Officials say the Singapore-flagged ship had 27 crew members aboard.

The Coast Guard is still searching for the others. The 570-foot tanker was traveling from New York to Houston when it called in a mayday alert to the Coast Guard just after 6 o'clock Saturday saying there had been an explosion on-board.

The situation in Haiti has gone from bad to worse in the last few weeks some say- the morgue's are becoming overrun and violence in the street has been growing.

A Henry County man faces kidnapping charges after trying to force a woman to leave her place of work with him.
Officials say 39 year old Kennett Russell Reed entered the Bassett Mirror Company yesterday, showed a gun and demanded 41 year old Teresa Hollandsworth leave with him.
Reed then allegedly tried to get Hollandsworth into his car, but she resisted.
A deputy arrived and took Reed into custody without incident.
Reed faces abduction and firearms charges.

Police are looking for a man who robbed a convenience store in Roanoke yesterday, and is suspected of another robbery at a Vinton gas station. Roanoke officials say the man went to the "Stop In" on Plantation Road last night before midnight.
The clerk says the man put a beer on the counter like he intended to buy it, then demanded the clerk to give him money.
The suspect then pulled out a gun. No one was injured in the robbery.
Officials also suspect the same man in another robbery early this morning at a "Stop In" in Vinton.
Police describe the suspect as a white man, approximately 6 feet tall about 185 pounds with curly blonde hair.
He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and glasses at the time of the incident.

Police are looking for a Martinsville man after a weekend shooting. It happened early yesterday morning at the "Ladies and Gents Hair Salon and Barber Shop." Police say shots were fired during a dance hosted by the shop. No one was injured, but police arrested three-people in connection with the shooting: 22-year-old Antonio D. Belcher, 25-year-old Nicholas Demond Swanson and 18-year-old Marcus Markey Kent. Police are still looking for 30-year-old Demetrius Robert Kent.

Hollywood's biggest night is almost here.
And nominees - and attendees - are working to put on their best face forward while Oscar works to bring all the last minute details together.

But its been shut out of the acting categories and some voters may be reluctant to award a special-effects fantasy.
That could tip the balance to Lost in Translation, and nominee Bill Murray.

But you cant go wrong betting money on Mystic River which earned multiple nominations for its director and stars.

Its like we were the last two people on Earth.
This time around big names like Alec Baldwin and Renee Zellwegger are up for Oscars in smaller, supporting roles. And even though Johnny Depp won a SAG award for Pirates of the Caribbean hes a longshot on Oscar night.

And the youngest woman ever nominated for Best Actress isnt even old enough to drive.
