Investigators have learned that 17-year-old "Ginny" Dawn Creasy was driving on route 619 in Bedford County last night, when she ran off the road, overcorrected and hit a Jeep head-on.
Creasy and two of her passengers: 16-year-old Barbara "Janae" Mills and 16-year-old Michael A. Williams died at the scene.
Two other passengers were taken to the hospital - 21-year-old Timothy Wayne Benge is in good condition, but there's no word 15-year-old Falon L. Worley.
The driver of the Jeep, 21-year-old Virginia L. Hoover, is in fair condition.

In 2002, nearly 180-teenagers died in auto accidents in Virginia. That's about 30-more deaths than the year before.
Organizations like Youth of Virginia Speak Out hope to reduce those numbers, by teaching students to teach each other about traffic safety.
The group refers to incidents like last night's as "teachable moments."

Ron Mayfield was clearly devastated by the allegations, but Frank Rogers said he found no evidence that Mayfield had a history of psychological problems.
Mayfield's torment, Rogers said, was due solely to the allegations against him and the events which followed.
Rogers said he believes three seperate investigations would have cleared Mayfield, but the teacher did not know that when he jumped to his death from the Blue Ridge Parkway Bridge over the Roanoke River.

Rogers says the school system and police department cooperated fully with his review, and two school board members attended the family's news conference.

Police say 51 year old Charles Edward Morris Junior was going too fast in Pearisburg and kept going east on Route 460 when they tried to pull him over.

The chase ended after Morris crashed into two police cruisers and was pepper sprayed.

Back in 1988, Curtis Blair was part of the greatest high school team to ever play in the Roanoke Valley - the Group Three A state champion Patrick Henry Patriots.
Like so many players off of that team, Curtis has gone to have a successful life in the business world.
