House Republicans are proposing to extend the session to Tuesday.

They are still at an impasse on raising the state sales and incomes taxes but have been exploring the idea of taxing gas, electricity and water bills.

A two-thirds majority vote by both houses is required to extend the session.
And most say they are willing to stay as long as it takes.

Officials evacuated Hidden Valley High School today because of a bomb hoax.
It's the second time in two weeks that someone found a threatening note on a bathroom door.

Katya (caughtcha) is a nearly one year old Asian Pallas (palace) cat the zoo acquired from the Cincinnati Zoo. At 8 or 9 pounds she's almost full size. She's being kept in quarantine until the zoo can build her a special enclosure.

Toxoplasmosis (TOCKSOH-plazz-MOH-siss) is a parasitic infection that could be fatal to Katya's offspring if and when she has cubs. The zoo hopes to welcome a male Pallas cat sometime this fall and breed the two.
